US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand Recognizes Charcot-Marie-Tooth Awareness Month
Senator Gillibrand has graciously shown her recognition of Charcot-Marie-Tooth Awareness Month by sharing a letter about HNF’s mission, the importance of greater awareness, and the need for increased research and clinical trials
Two years ago, I had the opportunity to meet New York Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand at an event in New York City. Impressed by her record of advocacy, I reached out to the Senator about the Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation and our ongoing efforts to find a cure for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.
Senator Gillibrand graciously recognized Charcot-Marie-Tooth Awareness Month by sharing a letter about HNF’s mission, the importance of greater public awareness, and the need for increased research and clinical trials. In her letter, the Senator wrote:
“It is my hope that our collective advocacy and greater awareness will increase global awareness of this disease.”
Advocacy is essential to our strategic work toward a cure for CMT. On behalf of HNF and the entire CMT community, I want to thank Senator Gillibrand for her generous support.
