About CMT Safe Space

Social media can be a helpful resource when searching for support and answers to questions about CMT. However, not everyone is on social media, and not everyone feels comfortable asking questions that friends and family may see, especially when those questions are personal.

Providing safe virtual spaces for the CMT community is a top priority for HNF. We believe everyone should have access to the information that matters most to them.

That’s why HNF has partnered with Inspire to build a growing community of nearly 10,000 members.

Why Members Value CMT Safe Space

  • Privacy: CMT Safe Space is closed to the public. Only group members can see the content and discussions.
  • Focus: Searching by topic keeps conversations on track and allows discussions to be archived for future reference.
  • Community: The focused, members-only environment fosters a stronger sense of connection, support, and understanding among people who share similar experiences.
  • Reliable information: The community is moderated by HNF and provides trustworthy information, treatment options, and resources for managing CMT symptoms.
  • Reduced stigma: Members can post under an avatar name, making it easier to share personal experiences without fear of judgment or discrimination.
  • Local connections: Members who choose to share their zip code can connect with others nearby to find local resources, events, and healthcare providers.
